Celebrating 50 Years of NAIDOC Week ![]()
Join us on Sunday, 6 July, for Mass at St Stephens Cathedral Brisbane, 9:45am, as we celebrate culture, community, and Christ at the heart of reconciliation.
In 2025, we honour five decades of championing the voices, cultures, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. This year’s National theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council invites all to unite in faith for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday, under the theme “Sent Forth in Strength and Hope.” Grounded in the spirituality of First Nations Peoples and guided by Christ, this day celebrates the richness of diverse cultures within the Church. Echoing Saint John Paul II’s words, we honour the living traditions of the world’s oldest cultures and affirm that our Church grows stronger when all are welcomed, seen, and heard.
