Preparing for Laudato Si’ Week 16th – 26th May
Laudato Si’ Week is special this year for we are celebrating 10 years since the publication of Pope Francis’ inspired Laudato Si’ and with his death, it is now our responsibility to carry this mission forward. Pope Francis’ letter calls us into deeper relationship with God, by loving God, each other and creation. It has transformed lives, communities and political discussion but as Pope Francis said in Laudate Deum,
“Yet, with the passage of time, I have realized that our responses have not been adequate, while the world in which we live is collapsing and may be nearing the breaking point.”
The theme this year is “Raising Hope”. It is vital that we, as Pilgrims of Hope, continue to celebrate this week to educate, inspire and motivate our families, communities and parishes to care for creation and each other.
