Lent is an important time to hear the ‘Cry of the Poor’.  Caritas’ Project Compassion is an excellent way to ‘Respond to the Cry of the Poor’(Goal 2 of the Laudato Si’ Action Plan). Recognising our interconnectedness with people around the world and responding with compassion is vital aspect of living Christ’s mission. Many schools also focus on Project Compassion through Lent, so responding to the needs of struggling communities can also connect our communities at home.  Look through the Caritas site for stories to share, ideas for fundraising and resources to use.  The Archdiocesan Ministries site also have our monthly resources (power point slide, newsletter insert and social media tiles) to help inform your community about this opportunity with Caritas and how it fits into our Laudato Si’ Action Plan.
