The Commission has released a resource for use over the period from the Feast of the Sacred Heart (3 June) to the end of NAIDOC Week (July 10).
Over the period from June to early July, a number of special days and weeks are marked. They focus on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples, refugees and asylum seekers and the environment.
Pope Francis has repeatedly expressed concerns about the globalisation of indifference towards vulnerable people facing great challenges.
A Movement of the Heart gives Catholics an opportunity to pray for and to take action for 3 groups of people in Australia and our region who have been forced to move or who are facing the possibility of moving from their homes, viz., Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples, refugees and asylum seekers and Pacific Islander peoples facing the challenges of climate change.
It is not possible to include everything in such a resource, but if you need more information about anything in the attached material, please contact me Peter Arndt on 3324 3441.
