Jack, this exactly why Catholics formed the old DLP and broke away from the ALP. Catholicism has always had a strong streak of the Left about it despite repeated warnings from several Popes that socialism is the enemy of the Church. Left-leaning Catholics always try to connect Christian charity with socialist policy. It leaves us Catholics open to criticism that the Church preaches socialism, which is exactly what it does. You will not hear the Archbishop preach socialism from the pulpit, but his CJPC does his will for him. That’s how it works.
