Brisbane’s Catholic Justice and Peace Commission will honour its first Chair, Fr Morgan Howe, with a Memorial Address in early September.
The Morgan Howe Memorial Address will be delivered by Dr Mary Coloe, Associate Professor of Theology at Australian Catholic University (National) on Friday 3 September at 7 p.m. at the O’Shea Centre, Lovedale Street, Wilston.
The title of Dr Coloe’s address is Act Justly Love Faithfully Live Humbly (Micah 6:8): The Prophetic Challenge to the Contemporary Church.
Dr Coloe is a scripture scholar and will explore the message of the Prophets and the life and message of Jesus as a basis for considering how the Church is challenged to be a prophetic witness of the Gospel today.
The Morgan Howe Memorial Address is part of the Justice and Peace Commission’s silver anniversary celebrations.
The Commission first met in October 1985 under Fr Howe’s leadership.
All are welcome to attend the Address. Bookings for catering purposes are requested. Bookings may be made by ringing 3336 9174 or by e-mailing em.fl@bne.catholic.net.au.
